Why Strong Carpentry

Past Craftsmanship. Future Arizona Relaunch

REAL WOOD CONSTRUCTION

Solid Wood Builds

Past Strong Carpentry projects were built around real wood, strong construction, and furniture made for daily use. Future Arizona table styles will continue that same standard

BUILT AROUND YOUR SPACE

Custom Sizing

Dining tables should fit the room, not force the room to fit the table. Future Arizona builds will focus on practical sizing, seating goals, and layouts that work for real homes.

MADE TO LAST

Heirloom Quality

The goal is furniture that feels substantial, looks refined, and holds up to everyday life. Past work shows the standard Strong Carpentry plans to bring into its Arizona relaunch

PAST CLIENT FEEDBACK

What past Strong Carpentry clients have said

These reviews come from past Strong Carpentry projects completed before the Arizona relaunch. They are included here as proof of craftsmanship, communication, and customer experience.

  • Jennifer Lynn

I am OBSESSED with our new table and bench! Harrison is truly talented a hard worker, and I appreciated his professionalism. Thank you,Harrison, for this beautiful piece, our first ever actual custom piece we’ve ever had made!

  • Nancy Boatwright

I had a very unique space that I couldn’t find the right piece to fit (I wanted a table). We came up with an idea and Harrison made it happen. He was very helpful and easy to work with and the table was PERFECT.

  • Ron Whittington

My wife and I commissioned Harrison to build a custom family heirloom. Harrison and his team at Strong Carpentry delivered a piece of art and our family dining table that we will use daily for the rest of our lives. I hope our children will one day share meals with their families on this table. Truly amazing woodworking! Stunning matched grain, beautiful color, easily extends, and fits together well. We love it!

  • Kati Hall

Harrison was the best! I would hire him again and again. He is kind, on time, thorough, and trustworthy. He created our kitchenettes exactly how we wanted them. They turned out beautiful!

  • Sarah Gould

Strong Carpentry built us an amazing king bed. The attention to detail that goes into each cut is beautiful.  How he puts every piece together in the end is absolutely amazing.

  • Sara Davenport

We had him custom make a patio seat for us and it turned out exactly like I had hoped. It didn’t take very long from order to delivery. He delivered it to us and helped us set it up. It looks perfect in my patio. We love it!

  • Lois Cloward

Strong Carpentry saved us from a disaster by coming to our rescue and taking apart our custom office and putting it back together. We highly recommend Harrison.

  • Sarah Lloyd

I custom ordered a charcuterie board and am in love with the result. You can see the care Harrison took to make it in every detail. Truly a piece of art. Easy to communicate with. High quality product. Highly recommend.

WOOD AND FINISH EXPECTATIONS

What to know about handcrafted wood furniture

Every piece of real wood has its own grain, color, and natural variation. Past Strong Carpentry projects were built and finished by hand, which means small variations in grain, stain, texture, and finish should be expected and appreciated.

Strong Carpentry is not currently accepting new table orders, but these standards will guide future Arizona table builds.

Collapsible content

Natural wood and stain variation

Each furniture piece has distinct grain and color variation.Exact stain match to prior work isn't assured due to wood's unique nature.Stain acceptance varies, making color difference likely. While we use requested stain, minor variations are common. Note, we can't rework finish for a perfect match.

Stain matching expectations

Please provide your own stain and wood preference for accurate results. Wood's unique grain causes color variations; we can't redo if it differs from your vision. Remember, each piece is distinct, and guarantees are not possible.

Sanding and finishing variation

Stain shade links to finish and distress. A fine finish results in a lighter stain, while more distress leads to a darker hue. This happens because wood pores influence color absorption: when finely sanded, pores close, allowing less stain, hence lighter color. Conversely, open pores due to distress absorb more stain, resulting in a darker shade. If you're matching a heavily distressed photo, anticipate a different stain appearance on your smooth-finished table. This is the underlying process.

Natural variation in handcrafted furniture

Handcrafted wood furniture has knots, brush strokes, variations, and marks. Expect unique details like cracks, nicks, and slight imperfections. Measurements vary up to 1" due to custom crafting.
